"Not your ordinary..." Federal Hill's newest, most unique, and funnest spot! Come try our famous Red Velvet Chicken and Waffles or Doritos Mozzarella Stix.
Diners in the know will tell you that Angelo's is one of the most genuine restaurants in the state, and one of the most convenient. At the foot of Federal Hill, just a few minutes walk from the Dunkin Donuts Center, the Rhode Island Convention Center, Trinity Rep, and PPAC, Angelo's is a sure bet for a pre-show or pre-game lunch or diner. With a menu full of fresh vegetables, fresh pasta, and fine meats, there is something for everyone at Angelo's. Whether reading over the menu at the table, or up on the menu board posted in the center of the dining room, diners will have a difficult time choosing between southern Italian staples such as spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, homemade macaroni, veal and peppers, and old fashioned Italian pastine soup. Throughout the years, Angelo's has seen the comings and goings of customers and the changing scenes of Federal Hill. While remaining true to our traditions, we’ve accommodated these changes adding vegetarian items to our menu, creating a relaxing bar and lounge and providing free valet parking in our own parking lot to facilitate guests’ visits to the often-crowded Federal Hill streets.. Year after year, Angelo's has maintained a true Italian tradition of great food, great service, and great value. Don't just take our word on it...come in and see for yourself why after more than 87 years, "Angelo's is still that kind of place."
My father Andy first opened the doors to Andino’s in 1988 as a Providence social club, a place where He and his friends could hang out after work and share a few laughs and a glass of wine before going home for dinner. On Saturday nights, the men and their wives all dressed up and went to Andino’s for a formal night out for dinner with friends. Sundays were always family day, the biggest day of the week. In the morning you’d wake up to the smell of garlic and onions frying in olive oil. You could hear the hiss as tomatoes were dropped into the pan. Of course, it would not be Sunday without going to Mass. You couldn’t eat before Mass because you had to fast before receiving communion. To church for mass and then home for Grandma’s home cooking. We always had gravy and macaroni, it was a Sunday tradition. We knew when we got home, we’d find hot meatballs frying. Nothing is better than newly-fried meatballs and crisp bread for dipping. Growing up as a young boy in a very traditional italian family, I was taught the value of hard work and honesty. Stepping into Andino’s is like being back in the 1940’s. Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra are staples on the sound system and the moody lighting of our classic italian restaurant combined with the red and white wine, the animated conversations, and the red sauce make one feel like this could be Brooklyn, or New York’s Little Italy 70 years ago. The feel of being back in time often is one’s impression as soon as you walk in the door. The food alone is enough to talk about, but the ambience.... Well......let’s just say this place is a classic and a must visit. All over Federal Hill you find a true variety of both classic and new, when it comes to Italian food. Looking to take something home? We also offer most items for take out!!
