NEWPORT’S GASTROPUB “A pub that serves high quality food” Last summer John Caulfield, owner of Buskers decided to bring his restaurant up a notch. Pub/restaurant menus are noted mostly for fried food or “slop and drop” food. John wanted to change this image and together with his staff, has enhanced the way Buskers represents itself. It now boasts to be Newport’s Gastropub. A gastropub is a pub that serves high quality food. Marcus Weber who has fourteen years’ experience working in Newport’s fine dine restaurants was hired as head chef and together with chefs Charles Gumkowski and Michael O Neill, they are truly making Buskers a gastropub. All items on the menu are now being freshly prepared. Along with the regular menu there is a lunch and dinner specials menu that changes weekly. Specials include Filet Mignon wrapped with Irish bacon, Boxty, Rib Eye au poivre, Fishermans Pie, Lamb shanks and Herbed Goat Cheese and Proscuitto Shrimp. To top it off, all items on the menu are below twenty dollars. In essence Buskers now offers high quality food at affordable prices. The pub features an old world setting that is decorated with genuine Irish antiques imported from the old sod. There is live music every weekend to add to the great atmosphere. Upstairs there is another room that serves as a private function room such as for holiday, office or rehearsal dinner parties. It can hold up to 75 people, has its own full bar, and you can make up your own menu with help from its chefs. Also, they charge no fee to use this room, a plus in today’s economy.
Food to be shared. Cocktails to be sipped. Inspired by Italy. Bar ‘Cino (we say it “chee-no”), is an informal neighborhood spot in the heart of Newport’s historic Washington Square. Open every day and night for lunch and dinner.
Located on Washington Square, the heart of Colonial Newport, Yesterdays Ale house has seen many changes over the years. From our early years as a popular Newport nightclub, to hosting the cast and crew of Hollywood films like Amistad and Wind, Yesterdays has been a tradition for both locals and visitors since 1974.
"Lucia Italian Restaurant" is located on Thames Street just across from Brick Market Place at the summit of a half-flight of stairs. Come and enjoy our authentic Northern Italian Cuisine, intimate atmosphere and friendly service. We came from Italy, Vicenza ( a pretty city 30 miles west from Venice) and Rimini (a famous seaside city resort on the Riviera Adriatica). Established since 1993 our restaurant serves authentic Northern Italian Food, unique flavors, fresh ingredients and creative recipes prepared by our Italian Chefs.
