The Tavern On Broadway is located in the heart of Newport's Historic District in a completely renovated 200 year old colonial building. The owners: Jill Blumel, Jim Blumel, and Tim Sousa, live in the neighborhood and can be found working in the restaurant and interacting with customers. Come by and say hello anytime!

The name Perro Salado – the “Salty Dog” – speaks to the spirit of this vibrant seaside restaurant that serves fresh, authentic Mexican cuisine. Chef Dan Hall brings the wisdom of his years spent in Miami and New York kitchens to his Newport restaurant. His own unique and modern interpretation of Mexican flavors boasts beautiful ingredients – always fresh, and often organic and locally-sourced. Chef Hall’s fearless spirit in the kitchen and his deft and delicate touch with ingredients results in beautiful, innovative plates of food that delight every sense. Co-owner and general manager Andi Johnson’s artistic eye transformed this historic 18th-century Naval officer’s home in the heart of Newport into a casual and boisterous gathering space. Earthy colors saturate walls, and the whimsical decor make each of the cozy rooms jump to life with fiesta-like energy. Behind the bar, Andi’s experience as a mixologist turns classic margaritas into bold and fresh concoctions as exciting and remarkable as a great glass of wine. It was Dan’s brother Russ who always had the lifelong dream to own a restaurant. On a trip to Mexico he developed a love of authentic Mexican cuisine, and realized there wasn’t much of it at all in Rhode Island. Harnessing Dan’s and Andi’s talents, Russ found the Perro Salado concept a home and helped it bloom. Now, he leverages his extensive business experience to manage the restaurant’s future – sure to be as bold and bright as the flavors coming from the kitchen. Fresh, friendly, affordable, exciting – Perro Salado vibrates with a refreshing energy on every level, and is as unique and satisfying as a restaurant can be.
Authentic Irish pub is located at 1 Broadway, just off Newport’s historic Washington Square. It’s named for the Fastnet Lighthouse off the coast of Cork, Ireland. Fastnet is a place visited by locals and tourists alike. During the summer the windows are out and you can sit at a table outside with your dog and enjoy a beer. In the winter, you can sit inside by the cozy iron stove. Try our great pub fare, including classics such as fish & chips, shepherd’s pie, bangers & mash and our “private recipe” steak tips.
