The club thrived as one of the leading entertainment centers in southern New England, hosting regional and national bands with an emphasis on the blues. Some of the greats that played on the Knickerbocker stage included, Big Joe Turner, Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland, Johnny Nicholas, Leon Russell, Eric Burdon and Stevie Ray Vaughan. In 1967, Roomful of Blues was born in Westerly, when guitarist Duke Robillard and pianist Al Copley started a band that played tough, no-holds barred Chicago blues. Making the Knickerbocker Café their home club, it did not take long before they started exploring swinging, jumping blues and added a horn section. Roomful would pack the house every Sunday and still plays their great brand of blues today.
Fast forward and the Café has become the Knickerbocker Music Center, a non-profit organization formed in partnership with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School. The mission of the Knickerbocker Music Center is to preserve, cultivate and grow the “Knick’s” unique brand of blues, as well as expanding access to music of all genres, by transforming the Knick into both an exciting performance venue and an exceptional center for music education.

ERIC NEUMANN: Here is a list of things that Eric calls "accomplishments", but his Jewish mom calls "distractions from finding a wife" He’s a New York based comedian and a regular performer at New York’s top comedy clubs, and alternative rooms. Eric is a regular head liner at Caroline's On Broadway, and was named "One of the hottest rising star stand-up comedians in New York "by Hollywood Radio and Television Society. Eric has been heard on The Bennington Show on Sirius XM, as well as Barstool Breakfast on Barstool Sports Radio.
In 2018 he released his debut album, NERVOUS LOVER ,which landed at number 1 on the I-Tunes Comedy Charts, number 2 on the Billboard Charts, and was named "Album Of The Week" on Sirius XM's Raw-dog Channel.
TAD FLYNN: Tad Flynn has no business being on the stage. And yet, it still manages to happen. Which is apretty frightening bit of commentary on the state of our culture. When he’s not recovering from his misspent youth, he can be found performing weekly at The Comic Strip Live and Gotham Comedy Club in NYC. He has performed in numerous venues from Toronto to Paris receiving uniformly awful reviews. He’s a single parent who actually managed to have something that resembled a career. If you consider drinking a profession.
SASHA SRBULJ: Sasha has traveled the world and found peace of mind nowhere. Performances in Paris, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and all over New York have done nothing to quench the turmoil of his mind growing like tendrils of curly hair from a never more confused head. Audiences find the entire process very amusing. You can find his sensibility in the nooks of consciousness where flashes occur like “I shouldn’t be eating this.” & “We elected who?” Somebody once described his comedy as: “whatever disease Gwyneth Paltrow is trying to cure”. Join him for the descent.
DAN ALTANO: Dan Altano is a New York City-based stand up comic who performs often at NYC's Comic Strip Live and Caroline's on Broadway. For the past year, he’s held a residency at the Atlantic City Comedy Club & regularly tours nationally on the Escape From New York show. Dan recently appeared in the New York Comedy Festival and regularly performs with the nationally-touring comedy group Escape from NY.
KATHRYN GIRONOMI: Kathryn Gironimi is a New England comedian who has performed in clubs and bowling alleys all over the East Coast. She was a performer in the 2018 Women In Comedy Festival and is a regular at Comix Roadhouse in Mohegan Sun. She started stand up to get the attention of her father and she’s hoping, that even if that doesn’t happen, she can at least get yours. Kathryn co-hosts the Reluctantly Here podcast and runs a monthly show called Triggered in West Hartford, CT.
