Al Forno Restaurant opened on January 2, 1980. Chef-owners Johanne Killeen & George Germon bring simple renditions of food rooted in the various regions of Italy to their riverfront restaurant kitchen. Dishes are re-crafted to reflect the products of New England's farms and waters cooked in wood-burning ovens and on grills over hardwood charcoal fires. Their training in the fine arts is evident in the original, creative techniques used for signature dishes such as Grilled Pizza, High-Heat Roasted Veggie Entree, Dirty Steak with Hot Fanny Sauce, Clams Al Forno, a unique collection of Baked Pasta, and made-to-order desserts such as Hand-Churned Ice Cream, Fresh Fruit Tarts, Baby Cakes, and the Grand Cookie FInale. The innovative cooking at Al Forno has produced a trail of George and Johanne's dishes all over the world.
The Point Tavern offers a friendly, neighborhood vibe combined with the ambiance that only good food, good music and a great bar selection can provide. Great beer selection, crafty cocktails, and tasty bites.
What is a Snuggery? snuggery: (Snŭg’ə-rē) n. a cosy and comfortable place First, it is in fact a word. However, we feel we are more than just comfy. The idea was to create a space that was as much a work of art as the food itself. We wanted a place that even the most jaded could find solace in. Life is stressful enough with everything that’s going on these days, we’d like to think that our little Snuggery offers a sanctuary away from the noise. We did our best to keep some of the original touches of this house intact (i.e. floors and fireplaces), while adding a healthy dose of transitional design as dreamed up by our resident Interior Designer Jessica Becker. We proudly refrain from any televisions and try to keep our music eclectic yet unobtrusive. Stop in. Relax. Eat a cupcake or something.
