Bill Dessel had a vision of what was needed in the East Bay area: the ultimate American bistro/tavern. With the support of family and friends, Billy’s opened its doors in April, 2009. Bill purchased the former Trendy’s Pizza in August 2008 and embarked on making his vision a reality. Bill immediately pulled in his sister Barbara Genetti. In the 1980’s, Barbara ran the East Bay favorite, Bullock’s, along with childhood friend Teri McCarron. Barbara’s experience was vast: she’d studied under Marcella Hazan in Bologna, Italy, and owned also the popular Providence deli, Tastebuds. However, she’d switched gears and was working as a special education teacher’s assistant in the Barrington School system while raising her daughters. Now that Barbara’s girls were older and more independent, it seemed the perfect time to get back into the business she loved. They assembled a great team and were off and running!
With more than two decades of experience in the restaurant business, Chef Brian Thimme is combining his passion for locally sourced foods with his love of family to bring a unique style of contemporary cuisine to his newest restaurant concept, Bluewater. Building on his previous local venture, Stella Blues in Warren, Brian is creating a new family-friendly restaurant with a festive bar area and lively outdoor patio. Bluewater Bar and Grill offers an approachable menu with a contemporary flair, combining fresh, locally sourced ingredients with tried and true favorites for healthy, family-friendly dining.
The Wharf Tavern in Warren has been a Rhode Island tradition since 1955. Built in the Warren river looking down into Narragansett Bay, we offer water views from almost every table. The Wharf Tavern is opened year round serving lunch and dinner daily and a buffet brunch every Sunday. So come by car or boat, we look forward to serving you.

Our job is to make you feel at home from the minute you walk in our door until the time you leave. Our food philosophy is basic....casual food kept simple. We use fresh ingredients and we try not to mess with them too much. We're located on the corner of Water St. and Miller St. Just look for the "soldier" out front and you'll know you've arrived.
