Live Music

Please come in for a great night with family & friends!
The Rob-Cats offer a variety of roots, rock and blues styles including Uptown Blues, Classic Rock-&-Roll and Country, Rockabilly, and Country Swing. Whether they're rockin' the house or in a mellower mood; playing original tunes or vintage classics, the band's versatility works well in any type of venue.

Rob Nelson - guitar & vocals

Rob has been a mainstay of the New England Blues scene since the late 60s playing in the Blue Lights, Loaded Dice, Blueswagon, Sugar Ray Norcia and more recently with Roger Ceresi’s All Stars. Tours in the U.S. , Canada , and Europe with Lazy Lester (Excello Records), Wild Child Butler, and Roomful of Blues presented an opportunity to hone his musical skills in the company of some of the greats of the blues. Rob also plays as a sideman with Darrel Nulisch, James Montgomery, Dennis McCarthy, and The Superchief Trio among others.
Through years of experience, Rob has developed his own voice in many styles of playing, including retro-soul, jazz standards, and honky-tonk. Through his affability and swingin' style, Rob brings listeners along into a world he obviously enjoys.

Tom McDermott - drums
As a member of the house band at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor Mich, Tom cut his musical teeth backing up many Chicago Blues greats such as Robert Junior Lockwood, Eddie Taylor, Lightnin' Slim and others, making his first trip to New England while on tour with legendary blues-harp virtuoso Big Walter Horton .
A two-year stint in Austin Texas with George Bedard & The Silvertones , and a tour of the South with the Wild Accusations gave Tom exposure to the rich rhythmic vocabulary of American roots music at the source, from Western Swing to New Orleans 2nd line.
Back in New England , Tom worked locally with Jack Smith & Rockabilly Planet and on a series of shared dates with the Sun Ryhthm Section (original Sun Records side men). In 2005 Tom joined the Boston-based Memphis Rockabilly Band on their European tour.

Greg Lioce - string bass & bass guitar

Greg, a native Rhode Islander, has experience in many styles, including indie rock, blues, and country. In 1995 Greg was with Ellyn Fleming, who won the Worcester Phoenix Best Rock Act and Best Female Vocalist awards that year. In 1998-1999 Greg played with Ken Lyon, who later founded Tombstone , one of the areas best known blues-based bands. 2003 found Greg in an indie roots-rock outfit, Lucky 57, another popular local group. And in 2010 he did some traveling with Joe Fletcher and the Wrong Reasons, the critically acclaimed alt-country band. Currently, Greg also plays with the Rumble House rockabilly band.
Greg is one of a rare breed of bassists who double on stand-up and electric bass, which makes him a perfect fit for the Rob-Cats' stylistically varied repertoire.

Hank Walther –Keyboards, Harmonica and Vocals

Hank is an accomplished piano player in local and national country circles playing in Nashville for a time. Locally, Hank was a member of Roomful of Blues from 2001 -2004. He also played with his father’s band---the legendary Hank Walters who was the king of the R.I. Country music scene for 2 decades. Hank is also a veteran of the cruise ship circuit.
