In February 1990, Gregg Davenport and his mother, Claire, opened Davenport’s Family Restaurant at 1070 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI.

At that time, the entire restaurant consisted of one room. One year later, we expanded the menu with the addition of beer and wine. With the loyalty and support of our wonderful clientele, it was only a few short months later before we acquired the entire building. We felt like we hit the lottery when we received a full liquor license which enabled us to build the lounge area.

In February 2000, Davenport’s Bar & Grill was opened at 1925 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI as our second location. Today this location consists of three dining rooms, a lounge area, outside patio dining, and a banquet room which accommodates 80 people for various functions.
