Green Tea's 18th Year Anniversary!
Green Tea was formed in 2001... after 16 years they are going strong with a wealth of original material, a 5th studio CD in the works and contagious momentum. The seven-piece line up consists of two guitars, bass, keys, drums, percussion and the dynamic Amie Coffey on vocals.
Toby Kniffin is the primary songwriter, with his well-crafted compositions work. He has been playing and writing for over twenty-five years, has performed up and down the East Coast and has learned how to harness emotion and craft songs that can be delivered by a live band. He spent the late 80s and most of the 90s fronting the very successful group Third Stone. Since then he has been a leading force in the bands Liquid Dead, based out of Burlington, VT and The Desolation Angels from New York. Rounding out the line-up are Jamie Conroy, Marty Moroney, Michael Chicoria, Jason Hartley and Gino Maiorano. Music influencing the sound of Green Tea ranges from the melody and magic of Garcia/Hunter, to the driving rock n roll and melody work of the Allman Brothers. Mix that with a Dylanesque writing approach that focuses on the lost art of “the song”….you get Green Tea, a unique and rich sound that is chock full of our forefathers, yet pushes all corners of the proverbial envelope.
